Office 2007 - Not enough memory or disk space to run...

I am using Office 2007 Pro academic retail version on my computer and it used to work fine without any issues. Recently I upgraded to Vista and now am not able to open any office documents, and cannot also open any office application. The error that I am getting is "Not enough memory or disk space to run Word 12". I am having 2gb of ram and 500gb hard drive with only 40% in use, so its sure that it is not a usage problem. I have already cleared up all the temp file and defragmented the hard drive, so there is no issue as well. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks.

Some more information, if I am trying to go in my computer, and then click through to the winword executable, and select the right click option to 'run as administrator' the program will start. I am using only 1 account on my pc which is the admin account. Can anyone give me some ideas about a setting that I am not aware of which isnt allowing me to execute from the desktop. Thanks.

Can you tell us what you mean to say when you upgraded to Vista, how did install it anyways? Did you try to do a repair of Office from Control Panel and checked if that is working or not?

I have done an in-place upgrade from Windows XP. I cannot see an option for repairing Office in Control Panel area, do you have any other method to solve this issue? Thanks.
