Office Application Version Does Not Match

I purchased a laptop that came with Windows Vista and Office 2007 Trial perinstalled. Because I was already having Office 2003 so I installed my Office 2003. After that I went into Add/Remove Program to uninstall Office 2007. Now whenever I start an Office Application like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc, then I get an error message that states "Office Application Version Does Not Match". I also cannot start Microsoft Outlook 2003. The error message is "MAI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version". Is there anyone who can help me out?

It seems to me that you forgot to remove the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 component for Office 2007? Uninstall it and see if that solves the issue for you.

Adding to what the above user has said, you could have also removed the trial version and any activation wizard to installing Office 2003. If the above method doesnt work for you, then remove Office 2007 completely. After that you will have to run a repair on Office 2003 and hopefully this will work out for you.

It is one thing to uninstall office 2007. But if you then check your programs list (in Add/Remove programs), you should probably notice that you still have Business Contact Manager 2007 in the list. Uninstall this program and everything should be OK. It was for me.
