| Outlook 2003 cannot receive emails
I've been using Outlook 2003 w/ my Cox email account successfully for several years. However, since Saturday I have not been able to receive email in Outlook. I can send email, but cannot receive it. I checked my Cox email online and the account is receiving email but it is not coming through on Outlook. I called Cox and they told me they don't support this problem. The error message I'm getting in Outlook is: Task 'pop.west.cox.net - Receiving' reported error (0X80042108). Unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message contact your server administrator or ISP." Cox says it isn't them but Outlook is sending just fine - it can't receive. Any thoughts? |

Yes, I'm am having the error message(0x80042108) on Outlook 2007. Have for around a month. If i log off and then back on I will get it to recieve also. I finally called my ISP this morning and he found that the number '0x80042108' had a Norton Firewall message with it. Are you using Norton? I had just upgraded my Norton to 2009 version around a month ago. So, I'm on hold write now with Norton. Fingers crossed. :-) Have you found the cause on yours? Good News! If your trouble was due to Nortons email scanning. I ran the Norton Live Update' and it loaded new email scanners today. I've tried several directions and I'm 'retreiving' all of my mail now!! Hope you had the same issue. "ken" wrote: > Yes, I'm am having the error message(0x80042108) on Outlook 2007. My utmost apologies for the previous replys. It just started not giving me the 'retrieving' mail any more... ;-( Oh well, further research needed, eh? "ken" wrote: > Good News!
