Microsoft Office Professional 2003 - Word

The problem I have I cannot open any DOC file unless the Word program is
running. If I double click on a DOC file within any of my folders it will
open the Word program, then nothing.

To look at any DOC files I must first open the Word program and then open
the Doc file.

All the other files such as XLS, PPT, PPS all work from been double clicked
and then the program boots and opens the required file but NOT WORD.

Very Frustrated

Try Help, Detect and Repair first.

Please don't use a signature separator if you are not bottom posting, as
real news readers strip everything that follows them.

Try Uninstalling Word, and then reinstall Word to rebuild the FileType
association for doc files.

Re: Microsoft Office Professional 2003 - Word

Problem solved
Office service pack 3 blocks certain file types (even their own). Have down
loaded an UnblockWord.reg and all seems to be working.
Thanks for your help.
Till the next problem
