Product Key

I have a downloaded copy of Office 2007 upgrade and have now bought a new
computer which has a trial version on it. When I try to enter the product
key into the trial version it will not accept it? I am sure I am not
mistyping and I have tried it at least 4 times.
Where do I go from here??

Re: Product Key

Upgrade? You need qualifying software BEFORE you can use/install the
Upgrade version(the Trial is NOT qualifing software). And an UPgrade key
can't be used to Activate a Trial copy.

Re: Product Key

I do have original disks for Office XP Professional and upgraded that to
Office 2007 Standard. As I have legitimately paid for the orginal sofware
and upgrade, how do I transfer this to my new computer and continue to use
Office 2007?

I have heard rumors that the license is machine specific and NOT
transferable. I really hope this is not the case as I can't afford to throw
away the cost involved.

Re: Product Key

on further thinking...
I have now installed Office XP on the new computer from the original disks.
Can I now download the Office 2007 60-day trial and then put in the Product
Key from the original installation on the old computer??

Re: Product Key

Don't you have a CD for the Office 2007 Upgrade? If not, how/where did
you get the one for the "old" computer? I would use the same method, or
install file you used for the old one.

Re: Product Key

Hey Bob, thanks for your persistence...

I paid for and downloaded the Office 2007 upgrade online from Microsoft so I
have nothing physical to reinstall it with. I have tried downloading the
2007 60-day trial so that I can enter the Product Key but it wont let me log
on to do that?!?

I appreciate your help...

Re: Product Key

In the "download" process you were offered the opportunity to purchase a
back-up/install CD. If you didn't do that AND you didn't save the file
you downloaded, you don't have anything to install or reinstall with. I
suggest contacting MS and try to purchase that backup CD.

Re: Product Key

So, why didn't you save the download after you installed it, knowing that
you might have to reinstall some day?
