The description of Office 2007 Standard says an optical drive is required. I'm thinkinbg of bying anASUS eee 901 12G with XP, which doesn't have one. Can I download Office 2007 and use it on the eee? Thanks. |

You can download and install the Trial version of Office 2007, then use your product key to Convert the trial to the full version. -- -Ben- Ben M. Thanks, Ben. That's what I thought, but the stated requirement on their download site was worrisome. Didn't want to pay several hundred dollars for a umpc I can't use! "Ben M. No optical drive kind of limits you, doesn't it? If your computer crashes and you have to totally reload the OS, you will need the downloaded file to reinstall the Office suite. It is easier to do this than going through all the problems of getting a re-download a few years down the road. |

I have tried this, but the product key for my Office Enterprise, 2007 doesn't work. How can I get a real person to talk to so I don't have to buy a second copy? I have a mini computer with no CD rom to use my original disk. -- Novice "LVTravel" wrote: > > > "ed-h" <edh@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:FB5DBDCB-61DD-4D95-9AE6-C5E6D8947C2B@microsoft.com... > > Thanks, Ben. It's a DVD. You might think about buying an external USB optical drive for uses such as this.
