Reinstalling Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007

Sponsored Links
I was using Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 on my Vista computer but due to some reasons I need to re-install it. But now while I’m trying to install it again it gives me some error messages. When searched those error on Google I came to know that it because of left over traces of earlier Office suite. They say first I must clean the office traces to re-install it properly. So far I have tried several steps from Microsoft but none of them have worked. Hence I wanted to know what is the problem way of re-installing office suites?

You should have better posted the Error message as well which you are getting during re-installation. Anyways, what you need to is First go to Add and Remove programs, uninstall everything you see related to Office. Now go to Start > All Programs > Accessories >System Tools and run Disk Cleanup. Here select everything related to Office suite or named Office 12. Delete everything and restart the computer.

Now try re-installing. Hopefully you wont be getting any error message now.

Re: Reinstalling Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007

If you haven't been able to correct your situation installing office home 2007 as I did, after removing office 2010 well this is how I was able to do it.

Went to http://officehs.microsoft.com.edqesuite.net and downloaded a full trial for 2007 home and student. It asked me for a product key and I did not use it so that I could see if it installed and it did, once done I opened up one of the porgrams Excel and it asked me for the product key and this is when I put it in and all went well.

Hope that this can help good luck

Alfredo

  • Click on ‘Start’ then click on ‘Run’.
  • Type in ’appwiz.cpl’ and then click on ‘Ok’.
  • Select ‘Currently installed programs’ list.
  • Click on the Microsoft Office program that you wish to remove.
  • Click on ‘Remove’.
  • Select ‘Add or Remove Programs’ dialog box and then click on ‘Yes’.
  • After the earlier version of the Microsoft Office program is uninstalled, install the Microsoft Office 2010 program.
