 System Idle Process -- Please Help
I know that people will probably just say that this is normal, but it's not -- and I need help! My system loads and nothing is running, system idle process shows 99%. When I then try to run a program this does not change. It makes my system unuseable basically. There is not CPU free for programs or other processes to run. I do not know how to fix this problem and cannot find appropriate help in other forums or sites. I know that when there is nothing running that the system idle process takes up the majority of CPU, but when I am trying to run other programs it is still running at 99% of CPU. IBM A30 laptop. Win XP Pro, 1.3ghz, 512mb ram, 30g hdd (20g free).  |
