MSI 970A-G46 board good with AMD FX-6300

I am looking to build a new computer. I just want to purchane a new motherboard and processor, since I already have an old hard drive and graphics card with me along with 8GB RAM. I was looking at the MSI 970A-G46 motherboard and for the processor AMD FX-6300. I was having question about the mobo and processor like how good will be the board and will I be able to overclock the CPU on this board? Thanks for any information.

I have read from many users who are using MSI 970A-G46, that this is a not a good motherboard at all and there are many known issues with it. The VRM on this board is terrible that is why there was no support for the FX 8 Core series of the CPUs. If you are looking to overclock the processor then the best bet would be to go with the 990FX motherboard. There are also other Asus and Gigabyte mobo in the same range that will give you all the support that you want.

If you are keen on buying the AMD processor only and not the Intel ones, then you should go with the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ motherboard. This mobo comes with 3 case fan connections, includes usb 2.0 and 3.0 connections. It also supports 32gb of memory and there are a lot of CPU choices in the AM3+ ranges that you can go with. The usb flashback also works properly and the BIOS setup is intuitive, along side in the advanced section also.

For an AMD processor the MSI boards are very bad because of their poor chipset support. There is no doubt that MSI 970A-G46 will work with with AMD FX-6300 6-core processor but still they are having bad quality and when you will try to upgrade to a 8-core processor then you will face many problems. So, you should instead go with another motherboard like the Asus M5A97 R2 which is much better then the MSI G46 motherboards. Hope this helps you out.
