Can I replace bad capacitor of a motherboard

I was cleaning my board with a brush. There was lots of dust on that. I accidentally broken a capacitor near cpu socket. Now the system is not turning on. I want some help here to replace it. How can I put it back. I am having a soldering iron. I had did a bit work with that in a college project work. I also know the exact location where I can place the capacitor. But I do not want damage it more.

You have to first clean the place where the capacitor was placed. There will be excess solder there. Just heat your iron and slowly wipe out the solder. you will then see the holes where the capacitor stands. There are two tiny wire at the bottom side. You have to place that on those holes and then solder them slowly. Try to add a very little solder and see that it does not touch the others. If you are lucky the board might start again.

The best thing you can do is watch a few videos on YouTube. They will show you how you can put the capacitor back again. There must be wire left at the bottom so that the capacitor can be placed well. It is very important that you do this slowly. If you are not very sure then just take the board to a service center. You have to pay for the same. Or you can take help from a TV Mechanic. They can solder that very easily.
