    idea Different company ram on old board

    i had a ram of 1 gb in my motherboard.
    now i want to add one more .
    I had purchased other one with the same MHz but of different company.
    now when i am using the new one it is not working,
    the screen shows it is installing only.
    please guide me

    This can be due to different specification. Can you post your motherboard and ram details. The complete motherboard model and ram model. You can find that through CPUz. Install this tool in your system and go the mainboard section. There you can find the complete model and paste it here. Sometime due to incompatible ram this problem occur. Like if your board support maximum 600Mhz ram and you are trying to add a 1333Mhz ram on it, it will not work.

    the Mhz is same only the company is differ

    Can you please tell us what is the make and model of the new RAM that you are using. Also it will be good if you can tell us your whole computer specifications including the motherboard that you are using. It might be also possible that the motherboard that you are using wont be supporting the new RAM that you want to use.
