    Gigabyte 990XA UD3 - No display

I have assembled a new system today with Gigabyte 990XA UD3 but I am not getting any display on the screen. Not sure if I have bought a faulty board, is there anything I can try out to check the board before sending it for RMA??? I have checked out all the connections and have made sure that they are proper, so I guess there is something wrong with the board but I need to confirm the same.

First of all post your system specification so that I can have better idea of the issue you are going through. There are possibilities that there might be something wrong with one of the component connected to your board and not the board itself. Anyways have you checked out your graphic card and psu ???? Are you getting any beep sound after starting the system??? If you hear any beep sound than make note of the beep pattern and let me know about it in your next post.

    System specification:
    GA-990FXA-UD3
    12 GB Kingston RAM
    Corsair Hydro H60 Liquid Cooling
    Cooler Master 500W PSU
    2 TB Hard drive

My system doesn’t have a discrete graphic card and I don’t think there might be anything wrong with the psu. I was using it with my old system and it used to work great. I am not getting any beep sound.

Try resetting cmos and see if display comes up. There are different ways for resetting cmos but you can try out the easiest one.
    • Turn off your computer, unplug the power cord
    • Take out the battery, wait for some time
    • Reseat the battery, plug the power cord and turn on your system
    • Let me know if simply resetting cmos helps you out.

Have you tested your monitor??? If you have some other working monitor around than you can test you system with that. If possible install a discrete graphic card on your board and start your system. As far as I can guess there might be something wrong with your monitor or your board’s integrated gpu.

A better idea will be testing your system components like, ram, cpu, psu and your board itself in other working machine. If there might be anything wrong with any of your system component or the board than you will come to know about it. I don’t think you will be able to track out the actual cause of the issue without testing your system components.

    Re: Gigabyte 990XA UD3 - No display

I have tried resetting cmos but it did not made any difference in my case.

I have tried using other monitor and have got the same response, no beep and no display.

Currently I don’t have another working system around so I cannot check all the components. I’ll better get the board checked from the store I’ve bought and will send it for replacement if it comes up as faulty.
