what is the normal temperature for AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+

I am new buddy on computer and I want to know the detail about maximum temperature of CPU. Recently my DAD has gifted me new computer on my last Birthday. It has something AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core 5000+ series CPU with ASUS M2N SLI motherboard. It is working fine and having superb performance for games. I always playing games on it. My computer gets heated whenever i play games. It goes around 50C-60C in game and 35-40C at idle time. So, I want to know that how much temperature is harmful for computers ? Please help me guys I scared little bit.

AMD is now days increase the reputation in market. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ CPU is good selection for this range of CPU. As far as i know 50-60C is normal temperature . hence you dont need to worry about that. Because n the specification of AMD they told that in between 40-50C temperature is normal at idle time and 60-70C temperature is normal at maximum load. Your exhaust and cooling system is working perfectly. So, no need to worry about that and play the games very peacefully.

Even am at the similar stage. Bought a new system couple of weeks ago. It has AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ CPU with Gigabyte Motherboard. It is working fine but my computer temperature indicator shows 70-80C while starting up the system. I think it is overheating of CPU. If it is overheating then please tell me what I can do to solve this problem. Sometimes my computer is automatically restarted after playing 2-3 hours of games. In idle time it shows 55-60C Temperature. Anyone please tell me how to solve this problem and it is overheating or not.

Yes, your computer is overheating because normal temperature should be approx 60-68C at the time of load and you said its showing 70-80C. I think you need to fix your CPU cooling system and heatsink properly because if it not fixed properly then CPU will be overheated. If it is not solving your problem than remove the heatsink compound and repaste it and remount the cooling system. Make sure your exhaust system is working fine. I hope that that will solve your problem.
