Getting post code = 00 on DZ77GA-70K with i7-3770K and no HDMI at boot

My system is having Intel DZ77GA-70K desktop board along with i7-3770K CPU and the problem that I am having with it is that when I am turning on the system then I am getting a post code = 00 where as the monitor continues to stay black and appears as if it not receiving signal, I have not installed the PCIe video card in the desktop board but then I have attached the board's HDMI video port to a HDMI port on a monitor, I don’t think that I am missing out anything but then I am not able to track out the cause of the issue as well, is there anyone who can help me out here?? Is there anything that I need to check out??

I was facing the same issue like you before , in my case the Intel DZ77GA-70K desktop board was not booting up when I was attaching the HDMI port on that board to the Samsung Syncmaster P2770 monitor HDMI port but then when I had disconnected the HDMI cable from the DZ77GA-70K desktop board then I don’t know how but it was booting just fine and after that when I attached the HDMI cable to the DZ77GA-70K desktop board then the monitor was showing Windows 7 64-bit desktop without any issues, I had bought a DMI(female)/DVI(male) adapter and I had attached the same to the monitors DVI port, basically I was having HDMI cable connected to the Intel DZ77GA-70K desktop board’s HDMI port where as the other end was attached to the monitors DVI port, the system was booting up fine but then the video was unreadable, I had tried using Emprex LE2262 monitor and I was not having the same issue with it, Later I found that the Samsung SyncMaster P2770 monitor is incompatible with Intel DZ77GA-70K desktop board, I had also tested out the Samsung SyncMaster P2770 with my hp laptop by attaching a cable to the VGA port on laptop and the DVI port on the SyncMaster P2770 and it was booting up fine and there was not any video issue as well, below are the models that has been listed as compatible with Intel desktop board DZ77GA-70K and they are tested out by the intel as well:
    • Acer * GD245HQ
    • Dell 24" LCD Monitor U2410,2* DVI-D +VGA+DP+HDMI-U2410
    • Dell 30" LCD Monitor 3008WFP
    • Dell 27" LCD Monitor 2707WF 2707WF
    • Dell 24" LCD Monitor 2407WFPb
    • Dell Dell 22" LCD Monitor E228WFP
    • Dell 19" LCD Monitor E198FPf
    • HP 19" 16:9 LCD monitor LE1901w port
    • HP 30" LCD monitor EZ320A
    • HP 24" LCD monitor LP2475w
    • HP 22" LCD monitor L2245wg
    • HP 17" LCD monitor L1710
    • HP 18.5" 16:9 LCD monitor v185w
    • NEC 22" 16:9 LCD monitor EA221WME-C
    • NEC NEC F19R31
    • Samsung Sync Master 788DF 17" CRT
    • Viewsonic* e70f monitor 17"

I also wanted to add that the Intel has tested out HDMI\DVI adapter mostly and I have not yet found HDMI port on any of the tested monitors.

Even I am having the same issue with Shuttle SZ77R5 and i7-3770k, I am not able to get output from the HDMI, I have tried out all the possible solution that I could have but then I am not able to get it working? I have tried unplugging HD, DVD, graphics card as well but then it did not made any difference, I have also tried using HDMI off the GeForce card but then I did not had any luck, I have even tried changing outputs and switching TV on and off but then I got the same response form it as well, by now I have tried booting it several time but then I am just getting a black screen as it has been mentioned by the first user.

In that case I will like to inform you all that if you will try connecting to the HDMI port on the pc to the DisplayPort on the monitor that you might be having then you won’t be able to get it working, one cannot convert HDMI to DisplayPort and if one is willing to do the same then he will have to use an active adapter but then this situation goes with DisplayPort to HDMI, the DisplayPort is a different signally system and it is just incompatible with HDMI/DVI it is not like the DVI and HDMI that has same video signals, if you will connect DisplayPort to HDMI cable/adapter to the motherboard/graphics card and if at all it detects the monitor and pass normal DVI signals then it will work, since there are less wires in DisplayPort cables they only support 1920x1200 resolution and they are just capable of running single link DVI mode, I have found that the HDMI is not aware of the DisplayPort because of which it simply negotiate an HDMI/DVI connection and that is the reason the monitor fails to display. Hope that cleat you all of you know.
