What is the cost of an Intel Ivy Bridge processor?

Can anyone tell me what can be the cost of the Ivy Bridge processor? I know that the price list of this chip has not yet been out but is there anyone with the leaked information or details about Ivy Bridge.
More specifically I am very much concerned and interested in the “k” chip that is similar to 2500k. Please help, any related information is welcomed over here.

I am not sure with the complete pricing list but I guess for the 3570k the price is something $225 which is according to me is very much high. Instead you can go for one of the best CPU present in the market that can run your system very well. $225 is way too high if compared with other chip’s cost. Better don’t get in more details and stay with what you have currently.

For each replacement of the CPUs like 3570K and 2500K, the replacement would cost you either the same price or some $5 to $10 more as of no competition with AMD, if you remember last year the price of 2600K rose by some $10 a month ago. $225 is what almost all the 2500K class of CPU cost you with every generation of Intel CPU. Everything is between the processor and the graphic card; both of them keep on increasing their price in order to take a sort of revenge and in-between the customers like us suffers. Some few years ago I purchased a P3 550e system for the same price or something above it which was almost same as the current 2500k price.

Seriously 225 is really too high for the performance we get. Even I remember the time I use to buy a pentium 1 60mhz,265 for a pentium mmx 200mhz,300 for a p3 700,260 for an athlon and so on. Actually we are also supposed to consider the size and value of the market but again if you compare with older days there were not many computers as there are today. Now intel is doing nothing but charging the customers for the CPU with almost a cost of a PC of that time.

I guess the price for 3570K is $225 and for 3770K is $332.

Below are the complete details of both k chips i.e. Core i5-3570k and Core i7-3770K:

    Core i5-3570K
    • Cores - 4
    • Threads - 4
    • Frequency - 3.4 GHz
    • Turbo Frequency - 3.8 GHz
    • TDP- 77 Watt
    • Price - $225

    Core i7-3770K
    • Cores- 4
    • Threads- 8
    • Frequency - 3.5 GHz
    • Turbo Frequency- 3.9 GHz
    • TDP - 77 Watt
    • Price- $332

Well I don’t know about others but I am quite impressed with this current price of both K chips. They are truly very much cheap, if you consider all its factors like cores and threads. $332 for a Core i7-3770K with 8 threads is really amazing. I would really go for one if its released in the market, but I do imaging how better it would be with overclocking. If its not happening with overclocking then certainly I will go for other Ivy bridge processor, most probably with some other series like “T” or “S” rather than “K”.

I guess S and T series chips are very much low powered versions with lower TDPs.

If you check out on internet you would find that the prices for all these series Ivy Bridge chips are almost the same with some basic difference. I was expecting that they would increase the price much higher as Intel already told that they have improved the CPU performance much higher but at the end we have a good deal since you get an improved IGP and slightly better CPU performance. Anyways I would still personally prefer some higher clocked chips or a mainstream 300 to 400 dollar hex core. Also I have noticed that the Core i5 3470T is a dual core with HT and the Core i5 3450 chip is a quad core which certainly makes no sense at all. But apart from them the prices for those two chips are quite good. Anyone with other Ivy bridge prices.

Not sure with the new but there is a rumor going around that intel could reduce or cut off the price of each Ivy bridge CPU by $20-80 or something around it but however that is very much unlikely according to me. If you go for an Ivy 3570k for $225 and along with that if you go for a decent Z77 motherboard for added $175, this combination will definitely beat up every AMD CPU with respect to everything at stock and also it will give you more 50% performance after when you overclock.
