    Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 is freezing pc

I am having the below specs and I don’t know why but then from a week the system is just freeze when I am watching video or surfing on the web and all:
    • W7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    • GA-Z68AP-D3 1155(REV 1.0)
    • Intel Core I5 2500K 3.3Ghz
    • Gigabyte GeForce GT 430 1GB GDDR3
    • G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8GB 2x4GB
    • Gigabyte Odin 720W
    • Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100

I think that it is because of the GA-Z68AP-D3 1155(REV 1.0) but then I am not very sure about the same, I have recently changed Motherboard and graphics card for USB 3.0 issues in my system.

As you have mentioned that you have changed the Motherboard and graphics card for USB 3.0 issues recently, I just wanted to know that have you tested out the graphic card, I mean that have you tried using the same in some other system to see if it is working fine or creating similar issues, if not then try out the same and then let me know what you get, make sure that you are having latest BIOS on your machine as well as the machine in which you might be testing out the graphics card.

I have tested out the graphic card on the system having below specification:
    • W7 ultimate x86 SP1
    • Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AM3
    • AMD Phenom II 965 X4 Quad Core 3.4Ghz
    • Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 2GB

Here the graphic card was working fine there but then it is not working in my system, I have got blue screen with a USB 3.0 error as well, ni don’t think that there is anything wrong with the graphic card but then it is something to do with the Motherboard.

I will suggest you to update the bios and make sure that you are loading optimized defaults ,when you are done with the same then save/apply/reboot BACK to the BIOS, You can use Qflash or DOS for updating the bios, update the bios to the below ones from the gigabyte official site:
    • Rev. 1.0 board BIOSes
    • Rev 2.0 board BIOSes

Once you are done with the above then update the backup BIOS so as to match the MAIN BIOS, you will need a PS/2 keyboard, or USB to PS/2 adapter for this process so make sure that you are having them as well.

Re: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 is freezing pc

I am having the same issue with the below specs:
    • GA-Z68AP-D3 Rev 2.0
    • i5 2500k
    • Windows 7 64 bit

I have found that the system stays stable if I am not loading the VGA drivers and as soon as I load the VGA drivers the system freezes after a few minutes, I have tried removing the VGA drivers and just running stock Windows 7 X64 VGA driver and I did not had any issues with the same, I have tried updating the drivers as well as the bios but then they did not made any difference, is there anything else that I can try out to get rid of this issue??
