Intel DX79SI is not waking up from sleep

Sponsored Links
I recently built an innovative system with the help of the Intel DX79SI motherboard and the i7-3930k processor. Commencing from side to side no applications which is running except for explorer opened to a share on an additional local network system and a command prompt window, the system ultimately goes to sleep as predictable, on the other hand if I making the users of my mouse, or try to type anything from the keyboard the system is unresponsive. The power LED just presently flashes continuously. The Post Code LED's read "03". The I had tried to press the power button the entire again is unresponsive, my monitor remains dark, the power LED on my case just presently flashes and no hard drive activity is apparent. Need some help here.

Re: Intel DX79SI is not waking up from sleep

If I hold the power switch down in anticipation of the system powers off and then restart the system when windows starts it pronounces Resuming Windows. The system does approach back to the accurate state it was in previous to sleep explorer opened to a network share and a command prompt window commencing from side to side the preceding data tranquil visible. On the other hand even subsequent to the system is back and has been back for numerous minutes the Post Code LED's read "30". The system seems customary and approachable otherwise. A subsequent restart loads as normal and on one occasion the OS is up the Post Code LED's read "00" as expected.

I had repeated these results 5 times commencing from side to side no applications working with whatsoever. Subsequent to the system goes to sleep if I had hit it off the mouse (USB wired Microsoft Mouse) the light on the mouse commencing on additional than no other activity is perceptible. The power LED just flashes. The NUM LOCKS and CAP LOCKS lights on the USB Keyboard (Logitech) do not elucidate.

I have the similar predicament through the power LED flashes, system by no means wakes commencing from sleep. I have encompassed a 3820 CPU, and an OCZ Modxstream Pro 700W power supply. I have comprised the similar num lock, etc. keyboard behavior. The most recent BIOS to bring up to date (0430 released on 2/13) does not list sleep issues as something that to facilitate it fixes, so I have not installed it yet.

I have comprised the most recent version of Intel desktop utilities inaugurated, as well as the latest version or description of other drivers related to the board. Optimistically a number of combination of BIOS to bring up to date/drivers determine to fix this problem, as I be obliged to leave sleep turned off for at present, which is an unreasonable long-term solution.

Fall back to 380 and it determines to work through hybrid sleep facilitated in Windows 7, it's enabled by defaulting. I have encompassed and not been capable to utilize anything later than 380 or I experience the similar sleep issues scheduled here. I swear nobody at Intel tests these BIOS releases. I might position Windows 7 to sleep, and the system might wake up when I hit a key on the keyboard.

On the other hand, the video by no means came back. Went back into the BIOS, set ASPM beneath power settings to Enabled. The setting ASPM to "PEG" might be adequate in view of the fact that my primary indication was lack of video on wake, other than I do not seem to have several predicament through enabling it for the entire PCI-E devices I have encompassed a PCI-E wireless card that might necessitate this, so I determine to maintain it that way. As a side benefit, 0430 and the most recent drivers create my front panel USB ports work. So at present it seems the whole thing is working as I think it be supposed to be.

Re: Intel DX79SI is not waking up from sleep

It seems that to facilitate the machine merely appropriately goes to and wakes commencing from sleep if the user initiates sleep. I have comprised and tested this beneath both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10. I have comprised and set Windows to go to sleep subsequent to 15 minutes; the monitor is set to power down subsequent to 5 minutes. On the other hand, the apparatus failed to appropriately go to sleep after 15 minutes the fans were tranquil on, other than the display was off, yet the machine might not wake from this zombie state.

In addition, I had checked the power demand by the apparatus on my UPS display, and in the zombie state it is utilizing additional power than at my general procedure baseline (i.e. 135 W v. 90 W). I guess I determine to call tech hold up when I have comprised more time to try and formally chase this down, as something is dangerously wrong.

Re: Intel DX79SI is not waking up from sleep

It turns out that to facilitate with the intention of the user initiated sleep does not reliably work moreover. It does sometimes, additional than other times it results in my zombie sleep mode. I have encompassed and tried updating the entire drivers containing the chipset, to no avail. My merely other alternative is to test through another power supply. I suspected my SSD (Samsung 830), so I unplugged it and booted off of my HDD. When booted commencing from the HDD, the system sleeps as normal.

Re: Intel DX79SI is not waking up from sleep

I thought this was a predicament through the Samsung, so I had attempted an Intel 520, through the similar results. I contacted Intel hold up. They said that to facilitate other users of the DX79SI and other boards are having comparable tribulations through SSDs and sleep. The support agent said that to facilitate an BIOS to bring up to date was in the works, other than might not give an ETA, though he did say that to facilitate in view of the fact that there were widespread effects, the wait is not to be expected to be long. Let's hope.
