MSI K9N Diamond seems to be dead suddenly

My system has the following:

• MSI K9N Diamond bios v1.8
• AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+ AM2 stock with Corsair A70
• Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF
• Gainward 4870x2 2gb latest catalyst and application profiles
• Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 st3320613as (win7)
• Sony Optiarc DRU-870S DVDRW
• Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1

I don’t know what went wrong with the motherboard and now it is appearing to be dead as I have tried out hard reset, I have checked out the usb/lan/sound cable, I have tried resetting the bios by taking out the cmos battery but then they have not helped, I am not able to find out the cause of this, I am not very sure if it is dead, is there anything else that I can check out to confirm the same???

Have you checked out there has not been any short circuit between the motherboard and the case? If not then check out the same and let me know what you find, you should also check out the PSU as you are running 4870 and also try using single dimms and vga as well for the testing purpose. Just check these things out and then post back the result.

I have opened the case and have checked it out thoroughly I have not found any symptoms of short-circuit as such, there is only red light on the bracket but then the monitor is not having any image, I have checked out the psu as well and I don’t think that there is anything wrong with the same as it has been working fine for 2 years with the same configuration, other than this after your suggestion I have tried out testing the dims separately but then I got the same response, I have tested out the another vga on both pci express slots , I think that the board is just dead.
