Too much ram on Msi 870A-G54 is making display driver unresponsive

I am having Msi 870A-G54 in my system and I am using 16gb of ram on Windows 7 ultimate and I have been facing multiple issues with video cards as it keep prompting me with the below error message while playing games.
"display driver has stopped responding and has recovered"
It seems due to overheating , have tried using several video cards but then I have got the same response but then later after a long trouble shooting I found that it is not able to handle the ram, 2x8 gigs of ram, I tried removing one of them and then things were working properly and I was not facing the same issue, I don’t think that there should be any such issue with 16 gb ram, so I just wanted to know what might be wrong here, is it the ram??? Or the Msi 870A-G54?? The cause for this issue??

You have not posted the distribution of the ram, as you have mentioned in the first post that you are having 2x8 gigs of ram, so better mention the brand and the model of the both??? Hope they are from the same brand, as there are possibilities of such issues when different RAM are mixed up, the other thing will like to add that even RAM from same manufacturer have different chips even if they are having the same model no and this depend on the time you would have got them, anyways just check it out and then let me know what you have.

Yes I am having different brands of ram:
    • Corsair Dominator 1600mhz 8 gb
    • Patriot 1600mhz 8gb

I was not aware that mismatching ram can cause overheating issues, is there anything I can do about the same or I will probably have to get one from the same model and make???
