Does MSI 990FXA-GD65 compatible with AMD FX-4100

I chose MSI 990FXA-GD65 motherboard as well as the AMD FX-4100 processor for my new build. I don’t know whether they are compatible to each other or not. If not compatible, is there a BIOS update to make it work. Even I don’t have an older AMD processor to flash the BIOS.

I heard that the AMD FX 4100 processor was not compatible with the BIOS that come on this motherboard. On first boot the motherboard turns on but nothing happens. This is after reading several forums I have realized that I had the same problem. I had to look for 4 days a compatible processor. So IMPOSSIBLE to start the machine and update the bios to accept this processor. Athlon 2 did not work! I took an AMD Sampron to install and the system starts. After updating the BIOS, CPU FX 4100 was recognized and everything works. The CPU works after update but I regret it is not shipped with a newer bios! Also it says on the site and on the box for the motherboard but not compatible with FX on the instruction manual.

The MSI 990FXA-GD65 proved to be a very strong platform with processor test AMD Phenom II X6 1090T, so the compatibility of processors socket AM3 with the new socket AM3 + with which it has this series 9 motherboard, MSI is total, but soon I will test it with when new 8-core Zambezi processors (socket AM3 +) designed for this motherboard available.
