Need Raid controller to go into a X58A-UD5 Rev2 motherboard

I am looking out for a Raid controller to go into a X58A-UD5 Rev2 motherboard, I am willing to use the raid cards with ESXi 5.0. and will attach 4 sata2 2tb hdds to it and will set up raid10, as I am having bios that supports VT-d I am willing to pass the raid card with a virtual machine on the server as well, so is there anyone who can help me in getting the best one for the purpose that I have shared??

I think that LSI MegaRAID Internal Low-Power SATA/SAS 9240-4i 6Gb/s PCI-Express 2.0 RAID Controller Card, Single will be the best for you and you can get it easily from the newegg as well, you can just go through the features of it:
    RAID- RAID 0/1/5/10/50 JBOD
    Features:
    • Patrol read
    • Consistency check
    • S.M.A.R.T. error detection
    • Power management support

“Adaptec RAID 2405 2260200-R SATA/SAS 4 internal ports w/ 128MB cache memory Controller Card” seems to be better. Even though it is costlier than the one that has been mentioned above I think that it is quite worth, just check out the short specification of the same:
    • Brand- Adaptec
    • Type- SATA / SAS
    • Internal Connectors- 1 x SFF-8087 MiniSAS
    • Interface- PCI Express
    • Transfer Rate- Up to 3Gb/s
    • RAID- RAID 0/1/10 JBOD
    • Features- Intelligent Power Management
    • MD2 – Low profile form factor

I think that a better and best supported as per the speed and reliability will be “Adaptec RAID 6405E 2270800-R 6Gb/s SATA/SAS 4 internal ports w/ 128MB cache memory Controller Card” you can get the same from new egg and for $189, I think that this will be a better deal amongst the ones that has been mentioned here.

I have checked about the same and I have found “Adaptec RAID 6805E 2270900-R 6Gb/s SATA/SAS 4 internal ports w/ 128MB cache memory Controller Card” to be the best as per the purpose you have mentioned above, you can check out the complete specification and features of the same on the new egg, just check it out and I am sure that you will find it bets and worth.
