Difference between LGA775 and PLGA775.

I am planning to upgrade my computer. So I am thinking to purchase e6600 or e6700 core2 due processor. But I read on internet that this processor supports PLGA775 socket but I am using DG965RY processor that supports LGA775. What is the difference between LGA775 and PLGA775? Please help me.

LGA775 and PLGA have several differences. The full form of LGA is Land Grid Array it does not have pins on the chip. LGA has copper pads on the chip. The full form of PLGA is Plastic Land Grid Array. I think PLGA contains plastic parts in them.

How the chip is packaged onto the chip is described by the PLGA. The LGA means Land Grid Array is kind of socket it fits into. The PLGA is the Plastic Land Grid Array plastic materials are used in the PLGA.
