Which one is better for Business and home use : Intel i7 2760QM or i7 2640M ?

I am looking to buy the new laptop with two choices in mind Intel i7 2760QM or i7 2640M. i want my laptop do multi tasking like working on word, internet browsing and many more applications at same time. I want such a laptop that will at least work for 3-4 years. As i7 2640M has 8 GB of RAM and other one i7 2760QM has 16 GB of RAM, more RAM will also make my laptop faster. I have few doubts and want to clear them.

1. Is turbo speed of the 2.4 GHz quad core and 2.8 GHz dual core same or not?
2. Is it true that quad core is oriented towards multitasking for single thread application also? Because it uses more RAM than the dual core processor.
3. I also want to know if i can upgrade to 2760QM from 2640M processor.

This should solve all of your doubts:

1. If processor is running with turbo boost mode then both processors will be having same performance. Turbo boost usage is determined by the operating system and applications that you are using.
2. The more cores you have more multitasking it will be possible with the processor. It is up to the operating system to select which core to select for particular application or program.
3. Upgrading to 2760QM from 2640M processor will depend on for what purpose you are using it. There are very few differences between them like clock speed, number of cores and the power consumption.
