Hi, I have AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 I can play most of the games of mid-high range. I am looking to overclock my cpu to little higher! I know there can be bad effects of overclocking but still if you can please tell me, I want to know how much I can improve my system by overclocking it?

    CPU Cache : L3 : 8192 KB

    MB Brand : Gigabyte
    MB Model : M68MT-S2
GPU Type : AMD Radeon HD 6670

If you are using the stock cooler then you can enhance your FX-4100 to 4.4 Ghz easily! Just do the following :
    1. Enter the BIOS and change the CPU multiplier to 22x and increase the core by 0.1v
    2. Now disable the turbo and max core settings
    3. Now disable cool and Quiet technology
    4. Try increasing NB hyper transport to 2200Mhz

I tried to do as you suggested but it seems that I cannot change any settings from multiplier and voltage and core speed! When I run prime95 to check them all their values decreased and resulted in slow speed. Also the option I changed were not displayed in C-puz. I have also tried disabling all the setting but still core speed did not increase! One thing I noted that while I was running Prime95 corespeed kept fluctuating but it never did go above 18.5 multiplier and3.7Ghz!

    Hi ashwin2012,
Not sure if this was answered but there is a software utility program at gigbyte for their boards and bios called "EasyTune6" (the 6 being the current version). You can easily change all the cpu, gpu and other things in your machine using this utility very easily.
Actually, I found this thread and the info was very helpful and I used the easytune software without a hitch...works great and the performance of this 4100 BD is sick man. Got it at Newegg for 99.00 this weekend and I am flipping out, lol. So fast and way sweet. I am assuming you probably have the same combo deal I got from Newegg with that gigabyte MB. I just upped my GPU to that Saphire 6k series as well and my gaming is sweet now. Ultra everything at 40-50 fps with no issues. Well worth the 600 bucks I have spent on this machine so far with room to upgrade. Anyways, I am assuming you have already fixed this issue but I thought I would leave a reply for anyone else, being it helped me so much.
    Thanks all
    Peace,
    chef
