Which is better core i5 or i3 in laptop

I am planning to buy a new laptop.i have chosen to take dell laptop but I am confused that what processor I should buy with my laptop??? I am confused between core i3 and core i5 processors.will I experience great speed If I spend my extra cash to take intel core i5 processor??? Or should I stick to intel core i3 processor?? Please help me. Any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

The first i5 processor was launches on 8 September,2009. Nehalem was the code name for intel i5 processor. Intel has optimized inter turbo boost technology which allows i5 to run faster than the base operating frequency. But if it is operating below power,current and temperature. This core will give you greater noticeable speed but will depend on what applications you are using.but there is an annoying position when we edit multiple files the i5 seems to be very slow and irritating. The speed it will yield is 2.66 GHz and has 8 MB cache size.

Core i3 is the low end performance processors from intel use these days in laptop after the withdrawal of Core2 processor. The first Core i3 processors were launched on January 7, 2010. The Core i3 processors are based on Arrandale which is the mobile version of the Clarkdale desktop processor. And clarkdale is the code name for intel processors.they come in various processor numbers and types. Intel® Core™ i3-2350M Processor is of 3M cache and 2.30 GHz speed. It has max memory size of 16 GB and max memory bandwidth of 21.3 GB/s. it is not as fast as i5 but if u want to spend less money and get good core processor u should opt for 13 processor. Give me your feedback if u find it good.

Intel Core i3 530 Processor will cost you around Rs.7,500 and the speed it will give will be 2.93 GHz and Intel Core i3 540 will cost you around Rs.9000 and the speed will be 3.06 GHz. Intel Core i5 Quad Core Processor will approx cost you Rs.10,500 with a great speed of 2.66 GHz.

Thanks a lot guys for all your suggestions. I made my mind to buy core i5 processor.it will charge me extra but I will get that added features and extra speed.i am really admired that i got so many replies.really thanks..
