Difference between Memory speed and Quad core CPU

    My system specs:
    • ASUS M4A785-M motherboard
    • AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition with Arctic Cooler 64 Pro HSF with MX-2 thermal paste
    • Kingston 4gbX2 = 8 GB @ 800 Mhz
    • 2 - 80 mm case fans (1 in/1 out)
    • 1 - 120 mm case fan - in

I have unlocked 2 cores of the processor and now it is = AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. The problem is the system won't run when i set the 8 GB RAM @ 1066 Mhz. In order to run the system properly i have set RAM @ 800 Mhz and at that time only it runs fine with 8 GB. There is a big confusion in my mind. Does it make any difference on RAM speed with CPU cores unlocked?

Even if your solution works (which is not earned), RAM and CPU not running at the same frequency, there will necessarily fall perfs since they can operate synchronously!

There is no direct relationship between the frequency of the processor and the RAM other than that of PLL. The processor "sees" the ram through the caches (L1, L2, L3) it is by no means synchronous or else it incidentally. For a given application the apparent time of execution is a combination of often complex computation time and memory access time which is why overclocking (which is an imbecile who does not control the subject) can yield results vary according to the hardware configuration of the machines and the software that is held.

The speed of the so-called system bus (linked memory speed) also affects the speed of a computer. A computer will never be faster than the system bus allows. Other words, upgrading old computers new faster processor speed does not always mean profit rate of the bus because the inhibitory factor. Indicators that can be used to assess modern processors:
    • Number of cores
    • Available cache
    • Speedsystem bus / memory used.
    • And to a much lesser extent, the 'speed' of the processor.
