AMD planning for 10-Core PILEDRIVER CPU

I have heard that next year the AMD is planning to introduce a 10 core CPU. This processor is the next design of the Bulldozer which is codenamed Piledriver. There is no obvious information about this CPU yet. This processor required new kind of motherboards called FM2. This means the old boards are just a garbage then. It is really a surprising news for all.

The architecture Piledriver, Bulldozer evolution expected in the second part of 2012, could offer only marginally better performance, equal to ten percent. To say that it seems a slide from AMD. There is also talk of Turbo Core 3.0. Only ten percent more performance for Piledriver, Bulldozer architecture evolution of AMD, early (ten days) we see at work with FX and Opteron processors on desktops and servers, respectively.

Re: AMD planning for 10-Core PILEDRIVER CPU

By 2012, AMD expects an evolution of bulldozers identified as Piledriver. Built more 32nm SOI cores of the new features are a 10% / 15% more overall performance, new instructions (FMA3 BMI), a turbo-core version 3.0, an expected increase in clock frequencies. They retain the characteristics of the socket AM3 + or chipsets series 9 (990FX, 990X, 970) and Southbridge number SB950, (and therefore by the end of 2012 no PCI-Express 3.0 and USB 3.0 run natively), controller Dual channel DDR3 with a maximum frequency to 1866Mhz, also remain to 8MB L3 cache.

Re: AMD planning for 10-Core PILEDRIVER CPU

This new processor seems to have the new high-end model of AMD to be. Also, given that 10 core processor uses a new socket again. AMD recently introduced the FM1 socket for the new Llano processors, this 10-core processor uses the so-called FM2 socket.

How old is this roadmap and whether it is current, remains to be seen. It is clear that AMD has great plans for 2012. Perhaps the year 2012 AMD Intel may get a bit closer. The roadmap is furthermore shown that we can count on the next generation of graphics cards from AMD.

AMD's current platform is called Scorpius, including FX CPUs (codename Zambezi) with Bulldozer architecture, the AM3 + and 9-series chipsets. The latter two components are also part of the Volan platform, which is the upcoming FX CPUs (codename Vishera) lead-based cores piledriver into the race.

Yes, at least until fall 2012.

This is then also the question of how much people really are ready to upgrade to Windows 8, then to use if the few% energy savings can also. At present one can want to read in various forums that the least because you switch to Windows 8 but Windows 7 runs perfectly.
