    Install SSD on Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3

Currently my system uses 500 GB Western Digital SATA HDD. Only 50 GBs used, along with installation of Windows 7. I dont want any more memory than this. I have external HDD for that. But in future i am thinking about adding a 120GB SSD. This is only to install windows 7 and some important programs. As far as i know that SSDs have a high failure rate as well as extremely short short life. Is it true? if not, is there is compatibility issue between the motherboard and installing SSD on it. I own Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3.

The combination works smoothly without SSD caching in XHD mode. Drivers have been uploaded via Xpress Auto Install Utility of the 6 series gigabyte DVD on a fresh Win7 64 bit. Then, the Intel 311 SSD drive and slipped on the Intel tool of the established network caching.

Re: Install SSD on Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3

I have a question about the installation of a Corsair SSD. In the BIOS I think once "PCH SATA Control Mode" and "GSATA3 Ctrl Mode". I have connected my normal 3.5 inch SATA HDD and my cdrom drive with the SATA2_2 and SATA2_3 connections. I want to connect The SSD to SATA3_6. I want the hard disk and CD-Rom continue to run in IDE mode and AHCI on the SSD. Is it sufficient for only the GSATA3 Ctrl Mode to AHCI to change and PCH SATA to IDE Mode Control to have or should I change anything?

    SSD at SATA3_1 / 2, HDD to SATA3_1 / 2 and DVDs at SATA2_4 / 5

But everything can run on AHCI controller
