Does Intel Core i7 2630QM has the AES and the VT-d functions

I was planning to buy the prefect laptop for me and jut came over to Dell XPS 17 it is good laptop and has the great feature that I really impressed about not the laptop is running on Intel Core i7 2630QM which is an added advantage since I was using the Core 2 Duo but I like to ask that whether Intel Core i7 2630QM has the AES and the VT-d functions I actually wanted to know this I would be really glad id any one here can assist me on this thanks

As far as I know about the Intel Core i7 2630QM AES and the VT-d functionality
It has the AES functionality
But don’t have the Vt-d functionality

Sorry I don’t agree with you on this Your in fact incorrect I believe. for the reason that my 2630qm has not included in the list of the AES in CPU-z but my Desktop Intel 2600K is does and seeing to standard True crypt presentation is considerable poorer on the 2630qm next to models that have AES hardware directions. as a result the Dell XPS 15 has one AES Hardware accel prepared but I am not sure about this

Let me help you today I just spoken to the Intel technical support, and he just verifies that the 2630QM have Advanced Encryption Standard. however it show laptop vendor have stop it, ASUS and Lenovo, maybe few others also.

That is really very fool of the vendor that they are actually pretty disabled at the bios level. But he is no one still answered that i7 2720 is higher shows up as enabled I would be glad to be familiar with this

Don’t worry as the latest BIOS supports AES on this CPU and also CPU-Z displayed AES listed for my 2720, however no vt-d still

I think that vt-d perhaps put out of action on the BIOS for consumer level laptops. If you want to be sure then just see your see your BIOS menu to make sure that 'visualization' is enable. On the 1645/7, a BIOS mod was necessary to show the 'hidden' menu that includes the option to enable vt-d.

My Toshiba laptop on the cpu-Z show the

MMX , SSE (1,2,3,3S,4.1,4.2) EM64T, VT-x,AES,AVX

and was show the same thing on my friend L502x with 2630qm and I see exactly the similar set of instructions.
