Which one is better Phenom 955 or 1055

I am willing to upgrade to a quad or hexa core Phenom II and I am looking forward to pair it with a 8Gb DDR3-1600 Ram with a Geforce GTX460 1Gb.I wanted to know that will it be able to handle when I will play a game and play songs as well.I have a habit of doing so and I play the games 1920x1080 as well so I just wanted to know that which one would be better a quad or hexa core Phenom II.Is there anyone who have tried the same on these and have a idea about it as well. Any suggestion regarding this will be appreciated.

I think that a AMD Phenom II X4 955 will be better as per your use and I will also like to inform you that the AMD has launched two new processor as well Phenom II X4 955 and 945 and they are based on “Deneb” architecture and they can be used with DDR2 or DDR3 memory as well and the Phenom II X4 955 is quite affordable as well and it can be used on both AM2+ and AM3 motherboards.

I am using the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor and it really gives a best performance and I have tried playing the game and the songs at the same time and did not found any kind of problem by now but I don’t have a habit of doing so and I don’t do that every time so I don’t have much idea about it and I am not too sure if it creates any problem or not because I have not played both the game and the song at the same time for a long time. I basically play for a hour and in that period of time I have not faced any lags by now.
