Corsair VS2GBKIT400C3 Works only at 160MHz FSB

I'm trying to give my girlfriend's old XP PC a new lease on life for a few months. This is a motherboard MSI K8N Neo V2 and found that the 2GB kit VS2GBKIT400C3 be conducive to memory upgrade. This worked fine with the old Sempron 2800 processor was in it, nevertheless the troubles began when also installed an Athlon 64 3400 +.

Could it be that the 350W power supply is not giving enough juice for a total yield with the new processor?

It seems to be a defect or inconsistency. Replacing the power supply unit with a better and more powerful improved the situation but not solve it. I put the old 2.5 333/Cl DDR memory again and stopped at every error. I sent Corsair DIMMs to the dealer for substitute by an alternative set of DIMM sticks precisely the same terms as above.

With that CPU and MB, you have to manually set the memory frequency at DDR333 at Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.7 volts and that be supposed to be high-quality to go.

I am waiting for replacement parts, so I cannot confirm now, but I'm pretty sure I've also tried did not work. In fact, I would replace the motherboard with something better, but is not a cost issue. She has so much to re-install Windows installed would not be a very important and painful.

Is the MB and CPU, the chipset will decrease the frequency of 320 MHz memory, so it's standard, nevertheless you have to put the timings yourself and would like to put the memory voltage to 2.75 volts well.
