RAM not functioning properly

I bought my computer year back, randomly I use my computer, when I restart computer only 945 MB of RAM shows up , where I have installed 2GB of RAM. Sometimes when there is no problem , it shows 2032 MB of RAM, because of 2GB of RAM. It even gives continues beep sound while starting the computer . Can anyone help me out to sort out this problem.

Going through your issues you have mention above and analyzing as a hardware engineer I can say that there is definitely a RAM issue. Fist thing just make sure that your memory slot is dust free. If there are two memory modules try running out in both slots. Just try these before going to further stages.

According to me, problem you are facing is not critical. you can sort out this issue by conducting some test by itself. Clean your memory slots , try out running both the memory modules and if still the problem persist check if there any leaking capacitor on motherboard spot it if any…..if got any get it solder.

You can also do one thing apart from my friends suggested above . run your machine without any add on boards . take out the video card and use the integrated video . now disconnect ll the peripherals except ps/2 keyboard . now run your system with hard Drive, CPU and one stick of RAM if it works start installing your components one by one.
