Is 8 GB DDR2 RAM is better than 4 GB DDR3 RAM good for gaming

Hello I have bought new system with the windows 7 64 bit operating system. Everything on the system working fine without any issue and now I trying to buy new RAM for gaming machine. While searching on the browser I have liked the 8 GB DDR2 RAM and 4 GB DDR3 RAM but I am not able to decide which one to chose. Can anyone tell me what is better for a GAMING machine, 8 GB DDR2 RAM or 4 GB DDR3 RAM.

It’s all depends on what type of RAM your motherboard recognize. I have a DDR3 motherboard for DDR2 is not an choice. As you said choosing I think you should go for the 8 GB DDR2.

I do not think this is true. In fact I do not think you see a big difference in the game with more than 4GB of RAM. I'd say go with DDR3 so that when you want to upgrade, you can have 8GB of DDR3 memory later in the path instead of 8, 12, 16 GB of DDR2 memory. Always go high as possible. At this time, 4 GB of DDR3 is all you need. Testing the future of your system. And get ram with higher speed and lower latency.

Go to DD3, you can add an additional 4 GB later if necessary and has a better chance of fitting hooked on a new motherboard in the future. Performance-wise there is no important dissimilarity, except you want to run additional than six average MMO clients at the same time.

However, in the next 5 years, 4GB, will almost be the minimum, but by then I bet people that all new equipment with six or eight major core processors and 2 GB Video Card. I have 4 GB on my desktop to 1066 DDR2 RAM, and I doubt there's a big difference between her and 1,066 MHz DDR3 RAM. I have contemplated buying more, but I'm not even make that much difference considering the type of RAM XMS Corsair Dominator Series I is $ 150 at New Egg 4 GB, probably because they are so scarce in these moments. I think I'll wait a year or two and get a new computer, but I just got a laptop but no game just like my desktop does.

The speed does not pay. First, because the speed gains of DDR3 vs DDR2 on the same frequency of 667MHz that is, only about 12%. DDR3 RAM is an improved version of DDR2 RAM. The memory used in personal computers has a notch, and also uses 240 pins, but is locked so it can not fit into DDR2 memory slots. DDR3 will double the bandwidth compared to DDR2 in the same clock speed. Anyway, if you are planning to get that kind of RAM that is serious about performance ... I'm using 4GB of DDR3 RAM strontium ... it’s very good.
