ASROCK Z68 Extreme 4 having poor performance with intel core i5 2500k

Hi, I have recently build a new computer and in that I have following configuration:

Motherboard: ASROCK Z68 Extreme 4
processor: intel core I5 2500K
Ram: corsair
operating system: windows 7 (SP1)
But when I test my CPU I came to know that the machine is giving very poor performance while I overclock the hardwires, and that’s quite big disappointment.

Any idea what could be the problem?

See there are too many software through which you can simply test the CPU and they all has their different way to examine the processor and it’s functionality. Thus according to me you should try to make proper setting first for all the overcloking hardware you have. Because that’s the most important thing. You can make use of default settings but if you are very well aware about the settings then you can do it on your own as well for using it efficiently.

You can simply measure the performance through the machine’s performance and through its functioning rather than testing this way. Have you ever got any problem while you boot the machine ? are you getting lesser speed then whatever you have expected?

I am agree with the above user but still if suppose you are seeing poor performance then it might be because of the operating system that you have installed in the machine. because it’s not always possible that there could be some problem with the hardware only rather the actual performance depends on the operating system only.

if suppose you are thinking that you are not getting expected output then you can have option to get another processor for your machine.
