Try this simple solution as I think it will solve your problem,Just enter the bios menu and go to the Integrated Peripherals, Then select VIA on Chip IDE and then on SATA mode Select IDE instead of RAID. As soon as you are done with it you will now work like a IDE and you can now use it as a regular drive..hope it works for you as well.

Even I am facing the same problem as of you. The bios is not recognizing the sata device in the main menu but it is getting recognized in the raid configuration manager, are you having a raid array set up on your system or what?. Are you having a solution for it

I am planning to buy a TB SATA 3.5" hard drive, which would be the best one? I m aware of Seagate and Western Digital so which one is the best from them? Is anyone familiar with other better brands in the market? Advice would be appreciated

I’ll prefer you to go for Seagate (ST32000542AS) as compared to the western digital one because the segate hard drive provide you with better features and benefit such as supper-low power consumption in every mode as well as they are meeting up the eco-green requirements of the customer, which you won’t be finding in western digital HDD’s.
