Low USB 3.0 bracket speed on Asus P8P67 Pro

While I connect my USB Drive which features the USB 3.0 into the bracket (USB 3.0) of Asus P8P67 Pro, the Windows operating system says "This device can perform faster...." Certainly, the speeds are merely USB 2.0 array through the bracket (it is made-up to be USB 3.0). While I make use of similar drive inside USB 3.0 Motherbaord ports, all works very well and much quicker. Anybody can suggest? Why these bracket ports simply work like USB 2.0?

Besides two wires for non-super-speed data, four new wires for high-speed data (usb 3.). The wires are completely isolated from each other. The extra USB cable wires are a lot thicker than a USB 2.0 cable. Because more wires in a USB 3.0 cable are, there are different connections are required. These connectors are designed so that there is still compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0. The four contacts are standard so the same place. At the top are five contacts yet. Connected to a USB 2.0 connection that has nothing to do, so only the USB 2.0 cables are working. The USB 3.0 ports do have corresponding entries, so the cable will operate optimally.

The first thing to do is identify the type of USB port on your PC. To do it manually, open the Control Panel, double-click System, Hardware tab then click on the "Device Manager". In the list that appears, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB)" (and possibly "USB Root Hub"). If the words "USB 2.0" or "advanced USB Controller" is indicated, then it is USB 2.0 ports. If you are only indicated "USB Standard", then it is USB 1.0 or USB 1.1.

Conversely, the same: a USB 2.0 cable to a USB 3.0 port to be used, but works on the 'old' speed. To clearly indicate the difference is USB 3.0 cables and connectors on the end colored blue instead of the usual black USB 2.0. The cable that connects to the USB 3.0 product does have a slightly different connector (type B). On top is an extra up keeping where new contacts are made. For mobile products, the micro-USB connector is also adapted. This was simply too small to five new contacts to add. Besides the USB 2.0 connector is half - marginally wider - connector. This applies not to a USB 2.0 device.

You can be the source of some conflict. Surely the installation CD M-Audio drivers you installed your driver version, along with the native already had. In my view would have to leave the newest version and uninstall the older. This can be seen from the control property (right click on the driver) even from there, once you verify the version gives you a routine to remove it. When you are done check if it really is the latest version. It is easy from the Windows Update site. You pass a catch.

In Device Manager, double-click the line "USB Root Hub", then the Power Management tab, uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power". Furthermore Install a USB hub that has an independent power supply. A hub of this type can connect multiple devices to a single cable and allows amplify the signal. If it is low-speed USB ports, a card will need to buy additional USB 2.0 ports. For laptop PC cards are PCMCIA .

To be sure, before you uninstall the driver do a system restore point, which if you have any problems, you can return to the beginning of everything. If you follow the wrong thing. Uninstall both and make new installation routine of the Fast Track. The USB 3.0 ports do have corresponding entries, so the cable will operate optimally. USB 3.0 will send the data directly from the host to the receiving device, which is much more efficient. So it is all depends on the device you use with USB 3.0 port.
