Re: Lenovo thinkpad x120e Ram Upgrade

As per my suggestion on DDR3-1333 is not the only version that will support you effectively, and per my research X120e run the ram at DDR3-1066 speeds and I am totally unaware about the fact that why manufacturer are shipping them with 1333, as per my knowledge the chipset are not capable enough for using it, it is gonna downclocks to 1066.So even I upgraded my existing ram by 2x4GB DDR3-1066 as I was not comfortable with the previous speed and it is working excellently for me.

Re: Lenovo thinkpad x120e Ram Upgrade

Hey there as I not that much expert in this Ram supporting field but as per my personal experience I can suggest you the Ram version which actually working for me to I am using 8GB G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBSQ i.e., -1333 PC3-10666 4096MB×2 CL9-9-9-24 SO-DIMM. This is the kit which is working just above the average for me, so if have any place to get above the normal speed and you can give a try for this one. As it will surly support your Laptop as it is supporting mine to.

Re: Lenovo thinkpad x120e Ram Upgrade

Hey let me tell you one thing first that using 8GB is not yet approved by Lenovo people, and as per there official support information, you can upgrade higher till 4GB, as using higher that this can create some malfunctioning for your system and even will not support it, before making any decision, I can suggests you that don’t do useless experiment as it will either waste your time or money. So better to take and walk on the suggestion given by official people, as they have much better knowledge about the supportive ram than any other.

Re: Lenovo thinkpad x120e Ram Upgrade

The Lenovo ThinkPad X120e have specification of Fru 55Y3717 "4GB DDR3-1333 SDRAM SO DIMM (PC3-10600) and have the option for X120e so it allow the installation of atleast 4GB ram So-DIMM, the X120 had already specify that even though the unit ships with PC3-10600 (1333MHz) speed frequency memory, it use to get clocked at PC3-8500 (1066MHz) speed. And Crucial have a 8GB kit consist of two 4GB PC3-8500 SO-DIMMs along with "CL-7" listed, which I am estimating means 7-7-7-20, as it is what Corsair use to offers with their 2×4GB PC3-8500 SO-DIMM kit. So you this means even 8 GB can also supports on it .
