    I was looking into tweaking my sons old PC a bit and found that a "C2D E6700 2.66GHz 1066MHz 4MB L2" was largest CPU spec sheet says MOBO will support? Problem is the C2D E6700 is rare and the E6700 keeps popin up every where I search! This forum touched on the exact issue I was facing so I joined to ask a ? LOL rhetorical Question: why would Intel would tag two processors with the same number? Any who the real question is can my MOBO support the newer CPU? MOBO is "D945GCL Coryville 2" This subject brings other questions to mind about this old "Personal Confuser"
