| Re: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is not working in Power Mac G4
I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the drivers of your ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition Graphic Card in your Power Mac G4 system. Before doing that make sure that you have downloaded the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro mac Edition from the official website of ATI save it to the desktop so that it can be easily accessed. Run the installer by double-clicking on the file that you have just downloaded. When prompted, srestart your computer. The display will start working once you have restarted your computer. |

Sometimes it does happen that reinstalling all the necessary drivers won’t help you solve the problem. So even after performing the above solution, the problem is not solved, than you have to do the above said steps with little modification. Perform the above task and check if your system is working well after the reboot or not. But if you are getting a blank screen after you have restarted the system then I would suggest you to be remove the current graphic card from your computer and re-install the original ATI Radeon 9000 Pro graphic card to your Power Mac G4. After some time try again to install your new graphic card. |

| Re: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is not working in Power Mac G4
Thank you for replying to my query thread so quickly. I tried installing the latest available drivers from the official website of ATI Radeon but did not find myself lucky in solving the issue from my system. But nothings seem to be working at this moment for me. So I decided to try the second solution. I removed my ATI Radeon 9800 and installed the original ATI Radeon 9000. And to my surprise it worked awesome again in my system. Why such behavior of my graphic cards? Does anyone know what must be the real problem? Please help me. |

According to me, there must be some set of problems with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition Graphic Card. And that is why it stopped working. There are so many electrical components in the graphic card, something must have failed, which caused this problem with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition Graphic Card. The only solution for this problem is to get your graphic card repaired if possible to do so, or you need to purchase a new one for your Power Mac G4 system. |

Thank you for those efforts and time which you spend on trying to solve my problem. That was the kindest thing someone could do for any stranger. All the replies were satisfying. But I was too scared to take risk and spoil my laptop more with my tries. So I will be going with the some parts of the last suggestion. It will be better for me to directly contact the Service center technical staff and submit my laptop to them. They can perfectly rectify the problem and get it solved for me. It is ok if I have to spend some extra cash in this service. It is worth trying. |
