Intel i7-2600K with Asus P8P67 idle at 1.6GHz with 1.1++v vcore

My computer has an ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA1155 Sandy Bridge Motherboard and Intel i7-2600K processor. As I have seen that this CPU using 1.1++v of vcore while EIST and C1E plus the EPU engine operational at auto? This equipment expect to provide "power saving" right? However what i saw, the vcore not at all goes downward underneath 1v still while idling and speedstep goes downward to 1.6G. Can anybody tell me what’s occurring? I have installed the latest BIOS but still there is no change at all. It seems to me that the issue is almost certainly due to the bad CPU chip? I heard that this CPU supposed utilize fewer vcore about 0.7 - 0.8v while idling?

Re: Intel i7-2600K with Asus P8P67 idle at 1.6GHz with 1.1++v vcore

My preceding computer which was with Intel i7-860 and p7p55d make use of 0.800v of vcore while system is not doing whatever thing, except still not ingoing idle states so far. I assume it will be dropped downward toward 0.6 while completely idle. I said this depended on CPU-z monitoring while CPU downclocked toward 133 x 9 = 1.2GHz and processor wattage simply 4-5W. However this i7-2600K and P8P67 motherboard still on 1.0++v while system is not doing whatever thing and CPU wattage still stuck between 8-12W. Therefore my conclusion is whether BIOS is still buggy otherwise CPU adjustment/stepping is buggy. In further words, the CPU or maybe the motherboard is not "so-called power saving"

I do care for the reason that I run my computer 24/7 intended for website and several additional purposes. The cause why I am asking because my preceding computer running i7-860 based on 45nm idling by the side of 0.8++v of vcore. At that time this latest chip based on 32nm must utilize less juice than that, right? i heard from several website telling that while idling the i7-2600++ must plunge the vcore toward 0.6.-0.7. Perhaps it is simply theoretically since what I simply observed, it make use of 1++v while idling.

Even as running whatever thing that pressures the processor, SpeedStep is clever a sufficient amount to maintain the CPU running at utmost frequency. Your FPS problems aren't because of the CPU. To totally stop the CPU from going into low-power idle form, you require disabling SpeedStep, C1E, along with each and every one of CStates settings. My Sandy Bridge system as well points from idle form to chock-full speed each only some seconds while I'm not vigorously using it. This is usual performance, as diverse stuffs are going on into the surroundings that we are unconscious of.

With the newest bios adjustment ASUS motherboards have a lofty level of suppleness at customizing the competence and constancy of the overclock values configure in the UEFI. It probable to overclock whereas keeping speedstep turn on and make use of the offset voltage technique for Vcore boost this will offer the in general best in temperature and heatsink performance as well as usually effectiveness and expansion of the lifetime of the motherboards its gears and the processor. This is because of the Turbo Multiplier functioning and exacting ramping as Intel anticipated.

Through a little bit of experimentation it seems I'm steady at 2.8 GHz by the side of .93 volts. Load temps at rest strike 80 and further than extremely fast though. I altered the BIOS voltage from auto toward 1.1 as my foremost attempt, except that was inferior. It not at all condensed the voltage from that height nor did it downclock toward 1.6 GHz. Seems I obtain to choose my fatal power management through voltages ranging from .93 toward 1.2375 and processor frequencies from 1.6 toward 2.67 GHz, or continuous turbo mode as well as a static voltage.
