Is AMD FX-60 CPU compatible with MSI K8N SLI

Hello guys yesterday I bought new MSI K8N and I am confused that is AMD FX-60 CPU is compatible with the MSI K8N SLI (MS-7185). If I upgraded toward this processor would its presentation be incomplete by
the speed of my memory. I include 2.5 GB PC3200 Corsair RAM. I attempt to discover about this on internet however I did not get useful information. So that’s why I am asking here. I hope someone will help me to solve this problem. Thank you.

To see if the CPU is compatible BIOS you need. Please give details of your hardware in a signature - for example, RAM - How do you get 2.5 GB, which is 2 x 1 GB + 512? If so, then you do not contain two channels and will in all probability decrease your RAM speed to 333 vs. 400 and 1T to 2T? So running only 2 x 1 GB dual channel matched sticks in at 1T work better and perhaps allows some over-clock. I hope now you are clear with your doubt.

Hello thank you for your response on my query. All memory is Corsair. Could the performance of the FX-60 on my system to be seriously injured as the bandwidth of memory is actually halved in a single channel mode? Could you replace one of the 512 sticks with a game to 1 GB to original 1Gb. Leaving me with 2 x 1GB to play a game and 2 x 512? I really do not know how this works. Any other suggestion. Please all replies are appreciated. Thank you.

Your RAM is only in the channel DDR333 and just because you're with 4 double sided sticks. If you are using 2 x 512 MB and 2 X 1 GB or 4 X 512mb or make no distinction. The driver Athlon64 members cannot work with a configuration in performance mode. If instead would use 2 x 1 GB enable Dual Channel DDR400 (This doubles the bandwidth of 128 bits, while a single channel is only 64 bits. Due to increases in dual channel width memory bandwidth of 6400mb / s instead of 3200mb / s (DDR400). If you stay with your current (4 sticks) the FX60 will therefore be slower. Not reach the performance level of a FX60 and that for this dual-channel DDR400 and necessary.

Run the sticks one by one and use cpuz to check their schedules default. Have the same part number does not always mean they are identical, if one is older than the additional. The memory chips on dissimilar modules can be slightly different. The speed of the lower memory speed can be faster than the memory modules can work together. The memory controller inside the CPU builds this strength of mind. I hope this will help you.
