How much CPU voltage is required for Intel Q9550 at 3.4 GHz

I am currently having Intel Q9550 with me and it is running at 3.4 GHZ. Now I want to know that how much should be the voltage at which is should work. Currently I am having a CPU voltage of 1.25V in BIOS and 1.224 as shown in the CPU-Z. So is it the right voltage to work at? Or is it too low or too high? I have done some benchmarking and gaming without any issues so far. So please help me on this issue and do tell me if it is correct or not.

I think that it is very high for 3.4 GHZ. I think that you should be able to do that with stock voltages. By the way what is your stock vid. I think that you should find the core temperature if you don't know. Mine is 1.15v. And right now I am doing stress testing on my Q9550 at 8.5x480.And the CPU voltage is at 1.232 under load and 1.248 idle. Also the BIOS is set at 1.31275.Maybe if the temperatures increases then there won’t be a big issue.

According to me 1.3625 is considered the maximum safe voltage and I think that you can even go a little higher that what you are currently working at. What are your temperatures like? If you are not getting them too hot then you should be good. Every one of these chips over clocks differently and it will depend on your motherboard. Some motherboards have better or worse voltage regulation. So the change in the voltage actually depends on the motherboard.

Thanks a lot for your immediate replies. I have a Q9550 which is a C1 revision and not the E0 one. Also the motherboard that I am using is the Asus P5Q-E.Also I would tell you that I have already disabled the C1E and maximum CPU value limit. Now I will try to disable the Intel virtualization. Now if I do so will it actually lower the CPU voltage requirement when it is disabled? Also the windows won't boot if I set the CPU voltage at 1.20V in BIOS. At 1.225V my PC crashed after about an hour of gaming. And that's why I set it now at 1.25V with which I have no issues so far.

I would like to tell you that I ran my 780i with the same CPU at around 3.4 with stock voltage. Also I feel that 1600 was a very stable RAM setting for me. I feel that you too are using stock voltage. What you can do is you can try saving your BIOS profile and then load defaults and give it a go. When I load defaults it will set everything to auto. Auto CPU voltage will show 1.3V in CPU-Z. So it will be better for you to try saving your BIOS profile and then load defaults. This will help you.

Looking at what you are saying it seems that your stock vid is v1.25. If you're stable at 3.4 GHz at 1.25, then you're fine unless the temperatures will keep on increasing. Considering that you have the NH-D14I doubt that the temperatures will get out of hand. I would tell you that my Q9550 has a 1.25 vid and I can hit 3.4 at stock. Currently I am running 3.7 at 1.28v.If you need to go higher then you really need do something with the vcore. But I would tell you that it is not very important and you are fine at whatever temperatures you are working.
