AMD 955 and MSI 790fx-GD70 motherboard with 8GB RAM

My computer is currently running with AMD 955 3.2Ghz and a MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard. As you know that this motherboard is new generation board and for that reason I have installed it in my computer a week ago. However my computer still uses only 4GB RAM. Now I am not satisfied with its speed. For that purpose I would like to upgrade the RAM to 8GB. Can I run the 8GB RAM for this configuration. I am not thinking about overclocking the system. I also need a good CPU cooler or heatsinker for this motherboard so that there will not be any obstruct with RAM slots. Please offer me a quick reply.

You can use the 8GB of RAM with this motherboard. There will not be any issue with the setup or functionality. However the performance issue which is you are talking about is not only depend on the RAM but it is based on the overall configuration of your system. My system configuration (Gaming rig) with MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard is as follows:
    • CPU: AMD Phenom IIX4 955 BE
    • Motherboard :MSI 790FX-GD70
    • RAM :OCZ Platinum AMD Edition 8GB DDR3
    • Graphics card: ATI Sapphire HD4850 1GB DDR3 (2X CROSSFIRE)
    • Primary HDD: WD Velociraptor 300GB 10000K (2X RAID0)
    • Secondary HDD: WD Sata 1TB Drive
    • Combo Drive :LG Blu-Ray HD-Drive
    • PSU :Xion 1000Watt
    • Operating System: Windows 7
    • DangerDen Xflow Radiator
    • Koolance pump/reservoir
    • 25inch RCA tv/monitor 1080p

I think that you should be better to select DDR3 1600 CL9 memory sticks similar to F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL otherwise F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ for the AMD platform and particularly. Do not go for ECO series because they are not meant for AMD platform because nearly all AMD platforms do not contain short voltage preference within BIOS setting and the construction of AMD is much diverse by the one of Intel. If you arrange to upgrade to 4 memory sticks on the AMD platform, it will be superior to downgrade the frequency from 1600 toward 1333 for the reason that it is complicated in support of AMD memory controller to work DDR3 1600 by means of 4 sticks

If you're inside the marketplace for several DDR3 memory, you will observe numerous sets being promotes like "Optimized for utilize in Intel i5 as well as i7 computers". There's various puzzlement in the market regarding whether these sticks are appropriate for make use of in additional applications. The fact is that nearly all of them can be utilized in whichever system that makes use of DDR3 memory, on condition that the BIOS on the motherboard can deliver the right voltage, typically about 1.6V for the majority sets. You should Benchmark Reviews for further information which will inspect how a dual-channel thing of 1600MHz CL7 RIPJAWS memory modules from foremost manufacturer G.Skill achieves on top of an AMD 790FX platform.

I think that for this motherboard my best choice a cooler with AMD compatible XIGMATEK HDT-S963 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler. Xigmatek goes further than the conservative in their pioneering, proficient thermal way out. As an alternative of a copper bottom or large heat transmitter, the HDT-S963 features an advanced clarification for well-organized thermal transmission straightforwardly from the CPU – straight contact heat-pipes. These 3 U-shaped 6mm pure copper potted pipes hold liquid which stirs the temperature up into the range of large-surface region aluminum convection fins. A detachable aluminum spoiler can be fitted into the back of the fin arrangement to direct some airflow.

Xigmatek's European design group is devoted to fetching a global organizer in CPU thermal cooling via creating dependable, well-organized and environmentally noise cooling systems. They don't slash bends through their products to bring on their assure and the HDT-S1283 is no exemption. This heatsink is cooled as a result of the 120mm fan connected on the surface of the array which puffs almost 100 CFM of cooling air by the side of its utmost 1500 RPM. Its hold up for PWM permits the BIOS direct the velocity of the fan depending on the CPU's thermal requirements – decreasing the fans momentum and sound for the period of off-peak sequences. A spoiler on the rear surface of the cooling arrangement redirects air to cool gears in the region of the CPU also.
