All,
Just started to play with my own build PC with MSI 890fxa-GD70 +
AMD x6 1100T + Consair 1866 memory CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9.
Latest 'offiicial BIOS = 1.7, I updated that altready to 1.8b6).
Using turbo core + AMDCool&Quiet and some oc (only multipliers,
no voltage-increases yet) I now have a stable system
running at 800 / 3.3Ghz / 3.7Ghz, all 6 cores. RAM is now at 1600.
q1: would I see i differnce if memory was set to ~1800?
Even if not, I just want to understand more on this:
So: using CPU-Z I see that the memory can indeed go up to 1866 by using other timings. There's one, the tRC, which should then be set to 48 (picture would be 9-10-9-28-48-2T). But ... BIOS allows me to set that value up to 42 ... not higher, it's simply not there.
q2: Is that indeed a BIOS-'problem'? What's the point CPU-Z telling me to set it to 48 if my system is not able to do so?
q3: if I increase the multiplier a bit more, the memory runs at ~1660 but then the system becomes instable (BSOD - memory managemenet-error).
But ... the memory should be able to run at that speed, and higher so I guess (?) I need to imcrease voltage. Of course I can try but I want to be sure
that I'm going in the right direction.
Thanks!
