Intel has officially launched its new line of chipsets and processors. For now, the performance of these processors are still under NDA until that date. Nevertheless, the motherboard manufacturers have enabled us to give an overview of their products based on these new chipsets. Processors will succeed Sandy Bridge while the current Lynnfield and new chipsets will emerge, those of series 67. Manufacturers of motherboards will be launched at the end of the year in a war to reveal their future motherboards.

Gigabyte P67A-DU4 we have been delivered in a black box not much bigger than the motherboard. Indeed, only the box model UD7 seems disproportionate to the card. At the back of this box, we can distinguish some logos representing the main features of the card.

The P67A-DU4 adopts a pcb black matte, very different from what can be found at other manufacturers who generally use a gloss varnish.

Gigabyte only models UD3-R, and DU4 UD7 be equipped with this pcb black, the other models use a blue pcb like the old motherboard brand. All board components are black except for two ports SATA 6Gb/s that they are white. The card has four DIMM slots supporting dual channel DDR3 2133Mhz up. These ports are powered by two phases. The processor is powered by 12 + 2 phases using mosfets DrMOS type (MOSFET Driver MOS) for the 12 phases and the conventional type mosfets for the 2 additional phases. The cooling system is composed of three DU4 radiators titanium color and decorated with a thin blue stripe. The two cooling radiators upstairs processor power are interconnected by a heat pipe that cools while the P67 chipset is not paired them other two. We can distinguish the new Intel socket depth, the LGA 1155. The older generation processors such as Lynnfield and Clarkdale are not compatible with this socket processors which is intended to Sandy Bridge. The holes for cooling systems are identical to the socket LGA 1156 which is found on newer P55, H55 and H57.

Gigabyte P67A-DU4 has neither power button ON/OFF, RESET or diagnostic LED display system. On the back of the card, there is an extensive connection. We are entitled to a PS2 port, 8 USB2 ports, two eSATA ports and an RJ45 port managed by a Realtek RTL8111E. There are also 8-channel audio output managed by the controller Realtek ALC892 audio outputs and digital and analog. On this map, we Gigabyte offers four SATA 3Gb / s ports and two SATA 6Gb / s. NEC 0720200F1 two controllers are responsible for managing the two USB 3.0 ports on the back plate and two additional ports usable front of a box. Unlike the Asus P8P68 Deluxe USB3 Bay is not included in the bundle. In terms of expansion slots, Gigabyte has opted for three PCIe 1X slots, two PCIe 16X (16X 1 VGA, 2 VGA 8X-8X). There are also two older PCI slots. And also note that the card is compatible with AMD's CrossfireX technology and NVIDIA SLI.
