How is the performance of Amd athlon 64 x2 7750 as compared with 6400+

Please tell me that about the cost and the look as well as I had heard that it does not look too worn out and very reasonable. I was about to purchase the 6400+ but after going through the reviews on this....think I found a new processor now searching for something to maintain it cool and that too without causing any sort of serious injury from unsuccessful attempts to install, Any and all views are most welcome. (regarding the actual questions posted)..this is not a intel against amd, this is comparing the amd new launch against the 6400 series .

Yes I think you have made the correct choice . They execute much better clock for clock than the older version of the processor which you were talking about right out there (2.7Ghz>3.2Ghz), contain unlocked multipliers, are very economical, they have the capability run much cooler then the previous Winsor black versions (6400 BE), and overclock a lot improved then the other Phenoms. I would also comment if AMD started considering the default clock speeds up to 3.2Ghz with this one, we would have a chip that works in the dominion of the E8xxx series.Any cooler that works with a Phenom must work with this processor as well

Well if you ask about the comparison , I will to say the the latest one which you are about to purchase is way ahead of the 6400 series , Compared to the 6400+ the new one conquers hands down. If you are looking for overclocking, as well. This is fundamentally a Phenom, which is a newer structural design than the Athlons. There is no basis to go with the 6400+ over this one, particularly not if you can overclock the 7750.

It actually depends on if your motherboard supports the AM3+ . It is far improved than the 6400+ that has the 2mb L3 Cache. The newegg listing is incorrect this processor is based on present Phenom's and has a 2X512kb L2 Cache and the 2mb L3 Cache and needs a AM2+ motherboards. As with all K-10s it also can make use of Advanced Clock Calibration (750SB). This is not your old Athlon X2 any longer. So if you have a AM2+ board its by far a improved processor as compared with the X2 6400+

I want to comment something on the L2 cache L2 cache is not compulsory if you see the AMD architecture . With the memory controller built in to the chip in the place of on the northbridge chipset as intel has formerly done a big L2 cache is not required . Intel required one since the memory access of their chips was slow and the cache assisted compensate . And yes this new AMD processor is a Phenom with two dynamic cores . Is it the thing people who are concerned that all C2D and pentium dual core chips are the same and all intel does is score them and turn parts of the chips off to build the inexpensive models?

At stock clocks it's usually slower than the 6400. It's only significancet if you overclock it and it appears to overclock courteously. A lot of assessors are hitting 3.2Ghz with the stock cooler which is actually fine for a phenom so I am convinced you might hit a little higher with a high-quality cooler. While I do think that AMD must have released these like previous year, I believe that they have been binning Phenoms with 2 faulty cores for a while because they didn't wish to throw them out, but they didn't wish to create a insist that would result them to disable a core on a CPU that would or else have been an X3. Well that and they required to clear out the record of their older chips.
