    Intel Xeon X7560: energy consumption

While reading about this processor came to point that explains the Xeon CPUs used the compiler flag-fast. Here are the Intel compiler will automatically select the optimal instruction set support. In addition, test the Xeon X5570, X5670, X5680 and X7560 for maximum comparability with the Opteron 2435 and 6174 also with-QxO. The Xeon processors lose the setting-QxO about six to nine percent performance. Now after reading this I want to know about the energy consumption of Intel Xeon X7560. I am sure that you people must be having something for sharing about this topic. Please be kind ( like always ) and reply me soon.

Re: Intel Xeon X7560: energy consumption

The total value of SPECpower_ssj2008 represents the energy efficiency of the system. The benchmark indicates the average performance per watt, which are all load conditions from ten to 100 percent measured. To the processors to use the energy saver options, working Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 with the power scheme "Balanced". SpeedStep (Intel) and PowerNow! (AMD) to the dynamic rules of clock frequency and core voltage depending on CPU usage are the benchmark SPECpower actively. Now with the Power Options of Windows Server 2008, the scheme "high performance" is selected. The processors are always working at full clock speed and core voltage. The dynamic power management features SpeedStep (Intel) and PowerNow! (AMD) are the schemes 'excellence' is not active.

Re: Intel Xeon X7560: energy consumption

SPECpower_ssj2008 test system is struggling in the load state 100 percent of the maximum energy from. All cores of the processors are fully utilized. The active JVMs require additional memory of the systems. SPECpower_ssj2008 out together with load tests in addition calibration measurements on energy consumption at idle through. Here, the minimum energy requirements of the system is determined.

You must have compare the system usage under Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 with the energy scheme "Balanced". The processors use their power management features SpeedStep (Intel) and PowerNow! (AMD). Then, at the Power Options of Windows Server 2008, the scheme "high performance" is selected. The dynamic power management features SpeedStep (Intel) and PowerNow! (AMD) are the schemes 'excellence' is not active.
