Intel dual core e6800 or Core i5 760

Recently I am trying to upgrade my PC. No matter what will happen, I will just need to upgrade it any manner. For this reason I have contacted my several techie friends who are very much familiar about good computer specification. Finally I have got 2 choice and they are as follows.
    • Intel Pentium dual core e6800 with evga gtx 460
    • Intel core i5-760 with asrok h55m and Geil black dragon 2gb

The only problem I am facing is I would really want to use my old sapphire hd3870. With my old PC I am getting much irritation like lag in several good games like assassin's creed 2 and the sims 3. I was using Core 2 duo e6300 (1.86GHz) processor. This tiem I don’t want any lag. So please help me with accurate information.

First of all I need to tell you that don’t go for E6800 - it has a quick clock speed except the cache is moreover short. You're superior rotten getting a less costly E5x00 or E6x00 series and after over clocking it easily. They create huge overclockers. For somewhat further than the cost of a new E6800, you can obtain a used 65nm Core2Quad for instance the Q6600, which would be line of attack enhanced. So for current generation the Core i5 is the best choice for whatever work you want to accomplish in your computer.

E5200s contain 2mb of cache similar to majority of the E6x00 Core 2 Duo series processors. What I am trying to tell is there's no summit in paying additional money for an E6800 at a time you can search out the E5x00/previous E6x00 series for much cheaper. They all contain 2mb of cache and they're straightforwardly overclockable to compose up meant for the differentiation. So it will be better if you go for the any other processor rather than you mentioned here.

It seems to me that you are just considering a computer for gaming only. As far as I know both recommendations which you have mentioned is good enough. However for your lag issue you will need a better graphics card for that game. Whichever processor you use it doesn’t matter much on gaming side but if you use low end gpu then you will probably experience several lags in games. And in second option you are mentioned the 2Gb RAM. I think that you should buy it because they are specifically designed for gaming rigs. Now it is your choice to combine both or go for individuals.

You are saying that you still want to use the old motherboard even after getting lots of lags in games. OK. It is not a major problem because lag could be a cause of anything not only related to the motherboard. First of all check the whether your mother board support Pentium e6800 or not. If your motherboard is compatible for that processor then I urge you to go for that along with gtx 460. This is the best choice for your purpose within limited cost.
