The change from a desktop Athlon XP to an Mobile Athlon XP is unfortunately afflicted with two possible problems. First, it can happen that the motherboard refuses to work with a Mobile Athlon XP completely. A possible way out is in a BIOS upgrade of manufacturer supported, even by the mobile processors. Most motherboards do not recognize the mobile processor also as a mobile processor, but as a standard AMD K7 processor. The wrong name but should not create further problems. The second problem lies with the source voltage. The two bridges L8 and L11 describe the maximum and the starting voltage. Above all, to the maximum voltage (L8-bridges) should take a look. The L8-bridges describe "Voltage Identification" code, this VID codes assign the mobile and desktop CPUs, but other voltages to one. By default, all processors in the desktop L8 bridges are closed. For a desktop processor corresponds to a maximum voltage of 1.85 volts. If the processor but at a Mobile Athlon XP, the maximum voltage to 2 volts are set. If the bios recognizes this value as a start-up current, this can damage the CPU. To be on the safe side, you can modify the L8-bridges to reach 00 011 with a VID from a maximum voltage of 1.85 volts in the mobile mode. The above-described problems with the maximum stress does not seem to occur because it depends on the processor version but the motherboard does not depend. A desktop motherboard is closed five bridges are 1.85 volts as the maximum voltage set by a laptop will always take 2 volts.
I am expecting some more information about from other members.
