Does Tyan s2912 motherboard supports quad core processors

My query is that will my s2912 motherboard support quad core processor because I want to get the new processor for myself just to increase the performance of my system? An another reason is that i inquire this is that I have my motherboard and when i got it again i observed that the bios setup is saying that it is running version 4.0 s2912-e. The mere dissimilarity i can inform from the TYAN s2912 and the TYAN s2912-e is that the "E" edition has a make in hardware sas manager. Both motherboards exercise the precise identical chipset as well as they look identical further the missing sas organizer on the s2912 motherboard.

I think that TYAN S2912 (I m not mentioning "-E" series) will match the AMD Quad Core processor with the v4.00 BIOS setup in the motherboard. On a binary file contrast, mutually downloaded the Tyan s2912 as well as the s2912-E series v4.00 various BIOS are similar (in fact only the zip file package captions are dissimilar, the files within are not). My system contain a S2912 series (not the "-E" one series) with v4.00 BIOS that I have presently built with two Quad Core AMD 2347 CPUs performing well without a drawback.

In accumulation to all 2200 version CPU's. The S2912 series as well as the S2915 together support all the 2300 series CPU’s nearly 2389 as well as the 8300 Series (merely different is 8 way maintain). You will require the most recent Bios from Tyan. I individually have assembled a 2912 series (Not "E”) system using (2) 2378 CPU's and another using 8352. Both working flawlessly with the requested processor. Tyan has, since before 1998 advertise full attribute boards along with characteristic removed boards. They are identical motherboard and i have always been able to perform in the same cpu's on the de-characterize motherboard. I expect this helps comprehensible to solve the mystery.
